Hi Aishah! What is your role at Kontinentalist?
Hello! I am a front-end developer. I work with writers to produce stories for the screen!
What is your background? How did you come to work at Konti?
I started working at Konti as an intern in August last year and came on full-time in September. At the end of April, I will have served eight months full-time.
I found out about Konti when I was doing my master’s in Urban Science at SUTD. My classmate showed me the BRI project, which was how I first came to hear about Konti. I noticed that Konti was doing a lot of data visualisation stuff, which I was really interested in at the time, and so I applied to be a front-end developer at Konti!
I only found out about data visualisation during my master’s course, to be honest. Before that, I was pretty clueless about what I wanted to do after graduation. Initially, I studied engineering for my undergraduate degree. The course I took was Engineering Science, which is a mix of different types of engineering and science. I then became a lab researcher after graduation; I worked on synthesising material to make sodium-ion batteries for the lab! After this, an opportunity arose at SUTD for me to do a master’s, so I decided to go for it. That was when I found data visualisation and devoted a lot of time to honing my skills there.
